| Hi there,
I stumbled unto your site when I saw it listed in a search engine. Erroneously believing I was clicking on a link to a movie-affiliated website, my curiosity was piqued when the site revealed itself as a seperator of "facts from fiction".
How disappointed was I when what was claimed as fact was not held up with references of any kind, be they to books, newspaper articles, video-based interviews, of in short anything that could be reviewed outside of the context of this website. One is left not knowing where or how info for this website was gathered, not even considering for what "ulterior motive".
What's more, your sections contradict each other: "The Fall" of "The Knights Templar" mentions that the source of Abbé Bérenger Saunière's wealth was never discovered ("The source of his wealth, which he kept a closely-guarded secret, has never been determined, but many theorise that he stumbled across the Templars´ hidden treasure."). But in "The 'Priory of Sion'", it is insinuated (again, without note of references): " Presumably shortly after his arrival in Rennes-Le-Château, he also started to better his personal economic situation by offering "black masses". " Was this an oversight? Was this the work of two different authors who did not refer to each other's work prior to their texts being posted on this site? One could ask who is, or are, the authors of these texts, but more importantly, what are the verifiable sources of these texts?
In short, I am not against people sharing their opinions and theories. But to conclude, if details are going to be proclaimed as "facts", then the proclaimers should have all independently verifiable references at the immediate disposition of the visitors of this site.
In a sidenote, the design of the page is presented very tastefully, and the color scheme is quite appealing to the eye, reducing the potential for fatigue. And the comment section is much, much appreciated.
Thank you,
Barne |
